The estimated base salary range for this role is $56,370 CAD to $84,550 CAD per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

Reporting to the Senior Project Designer/Project Manager, the AS CAD Technician/Designer plays a crucial role in supporting the company’s product line by creating detailed drawings for complex installation and product issues using two-dimensional and three-dimensional design software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit). The incumbent provides solutions to both internal and external customers, translating design layouts into detailed drawings and performing take-offs to facilitate project development from inception through to order.

What You’ll Do

AS Senior CAD Technician 

  • Complete shop drawings in 2D and 3D that require modifications to our typical suspension systems.
  • Recognize problems or issues with customer submitted drawings and clarifies requirements before completing drawings.
  • Proactively create & maintain CAD library drawing files with little supervision.
  • Assist Senior Project Designer/Project Manager in training newer employees.
  • Inspect drawings submitted by newer employees for adherence to drafting standards.
  • Create drawings and details to accompany bid documents, installation instructions, brochures, and web-based applications for custom and standard products as needed.
  • Provide drawings/details to customers with guidance & review by management.
  • Build relationships with internal & external customers including Contractors and Architects.
  • Accompany Sales and Project Management Teams to jobsite and other customer-facing opportunities.

  

What will make you successful

AS CAD Technician/Senior CAD Technician

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, BIM/REVIT, Inventor).
  • Ability to read and translate blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Keen eye for detail and precision.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of Windows Applications, including Microsoft Office and operating systems.
  • Knowledge of commercial ceilings and walls, and their technical requirements (aesthetics, acoustics, fire rating, structural, etc.).

   

Qualifications

AS Senior CAD Technician

  • Technical certificate in architecture, engineering, design, or related field required.
  • Possesses 2-5 years of experience using AutoCAD/Revit in a related field required.
